The Broken Mouse
My mouse keeps losing connection lately, which is extremely annoying. It's a Logitech, so I've had absolutely zero good feelings towards Logitech these past two days. I felt their quality was too poor, and when buying a replacement, I didn't want to buy this brand ever again.
But it has already been with me for nearly ten years.
I had long been used to having it by my hand. My anger wasn't actually directed at this item that was worth barely over a hundred yuan; it was directed at the fact that something which had become an inseparable part of my daily routine was suddenly no longer working properly.
This is inherently unfair. It was only worth a hundred yuan, and to have accompanied me for ten years was already a rare gift.
It seems to be quite similar between people. The friends and family members around you have no inherent obligation to treat you well unconditionally. But because they have been giving for so long and you've become used to it, you slowly begin to take it all for granted.
